Guiding the Player Through our Environment 2
Here are some Images I used for the research on guiding our players through the forest environment.
This research helped me understand that some of the aids we can use are:
- Lighting (brighter lit areas, colours to signify danger and save zones).
- Textured paths to give a sense of direction.
- Raised areas the player will be attracted to from a distance.
- Interesting props such as waterfalls, bridges or buildings in the distance.
- Collectables such as golden stars, or treasure chests.
- Fire, Electric sparks or other particles

Guiding the Player Through our Environment
We have been asked to make some changes to our environment art. I carried out some research on how we can use visual aids to guide our players without holding their hands.
I found a book called Ultimate Level Design Guide which is free to download and I looked at other various forest levels and art work for inspiration.
