Protagonist research

As I am part of the team carrying out research on the Protagonist character design, I have started reading a book called Digital Character Design by Don Seegmiller

Reading several chapters of this book has prompted me to ask myself and my team the following questions about our protagonist (and our antagonist)

What are peoples expectations when they see our character? Do their expectations meet what we have tried to display?

How will our character move in the world? Will he have a strong confident run, will he skip, will he be hunched or stand proud and tall?

What is our characters past, present and future?

What does his family life look like?

Does he have hobbies or maybe phobias?

What are his colours going to be and how do we want them to affect the  players perception?

Does he have an idle pose that defines his character/attitude?
